We shall miss...

Norby Gross-Rosen,79, of Sun City West passed away on June 30.  A Silver Life Master, Norby was born and raised in Providence, RI.  She attended the U of R.I. and studied for her Masters' Degree in Social Work at Boston U.  Her father founded Salk's Department store which became one of the largest independent hardware stores in Rhode Island.  She and her first husband, Isadore Gross (a Boston physician), raised their three children in Andover Mass. before moving to Phoenix in 1977.  After Dr. Gross' death in 1996, Norby met Bob Rosen and was married a year later in Laughlin, NV.  They shared a life filled with bridge, dancing and gambling.  Norby was well liked and had many friends who will miss her sunny disposition.

JAN HOROWITZ , 84, a long-time winter visitor from Butler, Pa. died unexpectedly on June 15 of a heart attack.  Jan, a well-liked player who maintained a condo in Scottsdale, was a Diamond Life Master and played in local tournaments and clubs.  Among her bridge achievements, she won the Master Mixed Teams and ranked in the 1988 Worldwide Epson Pairs.  She will be sorely missed by her many friends and partners.
